A few weeks ago we posted a set of questions to establish how well you know our club. These are the answers! Please review to improve your understanding. Ensure you share relevant information with your child. It will only help their development!


What is England Football Accredited? -

England Football Accredited is for all non-professional leagues and clubs. It helps them create the experiences and environments where players, coaches and volunteers can thrive. Accredited clubs are more sustainable, more resilient and built to last.


What EFA star rating is Rotherfield FC?

Rotherfield is an FA accredited Wildcats centre. What is Wildcats?

Informal football for girls of primary school age.


What format (in terms of number of players per side) do u8 teams play in the CDJFL?

5v5


What format do our u12 team play?

9v9


What size football is used in u10 mini soccer?

Size 3


What do you understand by the term Powerplay in respect of junior football?

Rule for junior football teams where a team is losing by a 4 goal margin, then the losing team can bring on an extra player to improve competitiveness. 


How many minutes are played in a half of CDJFL u9 mini soccer?

Depends on how many matches are played on a matchday. U9s have a maximum of 60 minutes playing time per day. If there's only one match then it can be 30 minute halves, however it is recommended that age group play 50 minutes per day to avoid overexertion. RJFC usually have 10-15 minute halves as we typically have 2 matches on a match day.


What are the dimensions of a correct (in accordance with FA guidelines) set of goals in u13 football?

21 feet wide x 7 feet high 


What do you understand by the term “rolling substitutes” in respect of football?

Unlimited substitutions, players can be rolled on and off throughout the matches


When can a referee sin bin a player in junior football?

When a player is deemed to have shown dissent towards a match official.


What colour of card is used to denote a sin bin?

Yellow


What is the duration of a sin bin?

8 minutes in matches under 90 minutes, 10 minutes in any 90 minute match


Why do players wear shin pads?

This a mandatory piece of equipment, to protect a players shin. The shin extends from the top of the ankle to just below the knee 


What do you understand by a “silent weekend”?

This is a weekend where spectators and coaches are encouraged to only applaud good play and refrain from shouting instructions.


Why are silent weekends important?

To allow players to be able to focus, communicate and make their own decisions without parents (& others) incessantly shouting confusing instructions!


What does a yellow arm band signify when worn by a referee?

Referee is under 18. Recognise this & give the young referee respect.


What is the purpose of marked Technical areas in mini soccer?

Area for coaches and game changers (substitutes) so match officials know participants in the tech area are game changers or coaches. Coaches & game changers to remain within the technical areas & not prowl up & down the touchline. The game is for the children.


What is the purpose of a Respect barrier in junior football?

To allow space for players, keeping spectators back from the touchline. Please always stand behind the barrier!
