Junior Weekend Round Up: 19/20 September
💚🤍 WHAT A WEEKEND FOR RJFC! 🤍💚
Goals, cup upsets, first goals, brilliant comebacks, outstanding team performances and plenty of moments to be proud of. ⚽️🔥
From our U9s right through to the U16s, our players showed teamwork, determination, resilience and a real love for the game.
There were players returning to competitive football, youngsters scoring their first goals, teams battling back from difficult situations and some fantastic cup performances along the way. Here’s how our teams got on this weekend… 👇
🟢 UNDER 9s
A mixed morning for the U9s, but plenty of positives across both teams.
The Gladiators produced two excellent performances, showing great passing, movement and teamwork. Every player contributed, with lots of unselfish play and everyone fighting for each other.
The Knights also showed plenty of promise, with both games level at half-time. More composure in front of goal and teamwork are areas to continue working on, but there were lots of positives to take forward.

🔵 UNDER 10s
The U10s continued their footballing journey with an away friendly, showing some excellent movement both on and off the ball.
⚽️ A.J. Bentley and Mykola both grabbed hat-tricks, while Jude, Albie and Zach also found the net.
🏆 Players of the Week:⭐ Mykola – A constant goal threat who worked tirelessly.⭐ Jude – After a year away from competitive football, it was fantastic to see him back on the pitch. He grabbed a goal and looked like he had never been away. A brilliant achievement!
🟢 UNDER 11s
A fantastic team performance against Tonbridge Invicta saw the U11s give everything from start to finish.

A great way to start the weekend!
⚽ UNDER 11 GIRLS
The U11 Girls finally got their season underway and what a start it was!
Roberta grabbed a hat-trick, Devon found the net and Izzy celebrated her first ever goal for the team. 🎉 Well done girls! 💚
🟢 UNDER 12s
Another great game for the U12s, but this time it was their grit, determination and desire to win that really stood out.
Going a goal down early on, the team showed fantastic character to fight their way back into the game. Dougie produced a lovely looping finish over the goalkeeper and in off the post to level things up.
After half-time, Rupert F found the net twice, including a superb piece of individual play and finish. Bertie also showed excellent positional play and finishing, followed by a celebration dance that certainly entertained the crowd! 💃⚽️
The team also produced some superb defending throughout, shutting down runs and intercepting some dangerous and skilful forwards before turning defence into attack.
A fantastic all-round battle and a brilliant team win. Beyond the footballing ability, the U12s showed that they have the fight, determination and desire to win against tough opposition.

🔵 UNDER 13s
A brilliant start to the cup campaign for the U13s, overcoming strong opposition from a league above.
With a few players missing, everyone stepped up and produced a fantastic team performance, playing some excellent football and coming off the pitch buzzing.
💚🤍 A memorable first cup win!
🟢 UNDER 14s
A frustrating cup tie for the U14s, but one full of positives.
The team created numerous chances, hit the woodwork four times and spent much of the game on the front foot. Credit to the opposition for taking their opportunities when they came.
⚽️ Isaac scored a brilliant headed goal from a corner.
🏆 Players of the Match:⭐ Robert – A superb display on the left wing, creating chances throughout.⭐ Isaac – A strong defensive performance alongside his goal.
With the opposition also in their league, the team will take the lessons from this one and look forward to the league fixture.
🟢 UNDER 16s
A busy and hugely successful weekend for the U16s, with both the Razorbacks and Renegades in action.
The Razorbacks started their cup run at home against opposition from the league below. After finding the net inside the opening minutes, they never looked back and produced a dominant performance from start to finish. 🤍💚🤘 A fantastic way to begin their cup campaign!
The Renegades also produced a brilliant cup performance against Paddock Wood.
🏆 Players of the Day: Our fantastic rogues’ gallery! 📸
⭐ Highlight of the day: Lars scoring his first goal in at least three years and celebrating with his friends from both the Renegades and Razorbacks. A very special moment! 💚
The U16s also recorded a fantastic result against Tunbridge Wells Youth Falcons, showing another strong performance and rounding off an excellent weekend for the age group.
