CHRISTMAS TREAT FOR OUR PITCHES!

Thanks to Richie for a great job deep spiking our pitches today. A few days of dry weather meant conditions were perfect to aerate the pitches ahead of their winter break, & just before the next rain storm arrived!

Aeration is the most important maintenance activity for our pitches given the poor Wealden silt soil. The work coincided with a visit from the Grounds Management Association Regional Pitch Advisor & Sussex County FA Facilities Manager with whom we had invaluable discussions on maintaining our pitches at their current levels.

Some great tips picked up to maximise value from our budget & improve the pitches further.
